Shakespeare is in town!

Year 3 have begun a few weeks of studying Shakespeare’s ‘The Comedy of Errors’ and what better way to involve ourselves in his writing that to start with some acting.

The children created freeze frames, then ‘came to life’ and added their own language and action to retell the opening of the story.

Rocking all over the world

Yesterday all of Year 3 went to visit the Oxford Museum of Natural History and the Pitt’s River Museum in order to learn lots of new things about their rocks and Egypt topics. Much fun, learning and interest occurred. Here is a video which shows the many highlights of the day. Enjoy and please leave your comments below…

Year 3 Rocks!

Our trip today to the Natural History Museum in Oxford was a wonderful way to introduce the topic of ‘Rocks’ to the Year 3s. Some pre-trip rock-finding in the school grounds this week helped to fire the imagination ahead of the trip. As well as our talk on rock types from an Oxford professor, we got to explore the Natural History Museum before boosting our knowledge on the Egyptians in the afternoon.

A house point is on offer to anyone who can tell me the 3 Rock types on Monday morning!
