In Geography this term we have been learning about China and this week comparing our school to a Chinese equivalent. Click the picture below to take a look at a video which shows the differences between the two.

What did you find interesting? Would you prefer to go to school in China or in England? Tell us what you think.

Weather Report

In Geography we are learning about weather.

As part of our learning this week we researched local weather and created a weather report.

Here are the highlights of Sycamore’s reports, which were performed to the class.

Sprouting Success

The Year 3 children have had the wonderful opportunity to make use of the new poly tunnel this week. They have been learning how to bed, grow and look after plants. Everyone had the opportunity to plant some lettuce and now they will have the responsibility to look after them, water them and help them grow.

Later in the day, the children used their gardening experience in English to write a set of instructions about how to plant lettuce. The aim was to make short, clear instructions with clear commands and time words. Have a look at the example, have they used the correct features? Please comment.

The Water Cycle Video

3 Sycamore used their knowledge of the Water Cycle to create a documentary style film today. Their aim was to present their understanding in an engaging and memorable way.

The class would love to know what you think. Take a look and please comment on the film, as well as telling us what you know about the subject of water.
